Straight answers, licensed builders, zero cost to you
Granny Flats Brisbane exists to do one thing well: connect Brisbane homeowners with the right licensed granny flat builder, and give you honest information while we do it.
Why this service exists
Since Queensland's September 2022 rule change made granny flats rentable to anyone, interest in backyard builds has surged - and so has the noise. Teaser "from" prices that double by contract time. Advice recycled from New South Wales that simply does not apply in Brisbane. Homeowners ringing six builders and hearing back from one.
We built this service to cut through that: accurate Brisbane-specific information on costs, council approval and rental returns, and a direct line to licensed local builders who actually want the work and turn up to quote it.
How we make money - disclosed up front
Builders in our network pay us a referral fee when we introduce a genuine project. That is the whole model. It costs homeowners nothing, and the fee is a marketing cost to the builder - the same money they would otherwise spend on advertising to find you. You receive quotes directly from the builder, you contract directly with the builder, and you are always free to compare quotes from anyone else.
What we promise
- Licensed and insured, every time. Building work is only referred to contractors holding the QBCC licence class the work requires - and we encourage you to verify any licence yourself on the free QBCC register.
- Honest numbers. The cost and rent ranges on this site are realistic Brisbane figures, reviewed periodically - never bait pricing.
- No pressure, ever. Site assessments and quotes are free and obligation-free. If you walk away, that is a perfectly good outcome.
- Your details stay tight. Your enquiry goes to the builder assessing your job - it is not sold to a list.
Where we work
Across the Brisbane City Council area, with particular depth in Aspley, The Gap, Wynnum, Mount Gravatt, Carindale, Chermside, Sunnybank, Ferny Grove and their surrounding suburbs.
